Arbor commits to environmental preservation, and picks up the steps to EU environmental regulation (RoHS).
Taipei, August 27, 2005 – Arbor Technology Corp., a leading provider of Embedded and Network Computing, commits to the environmental preservation in the end of August 2005. To fulfill environmental preservation, and develop more sales in EU and other worldwide area, Arbor will be ready to comply with Directive of Restriction of Hazardous Substances by reducing the usage of hazardous substances in whole series products, components, and also the total production procedures , meanwhile to achieve our obligation to society about the environmental protection.
Arbor is constantly and actively taking steps toward carry out our green policy. We geared up to produce green product of all product lines by the end of Q2 2006. One and the important matter is to reduce the lead (Pb), Mercury, Cadmium, Hexavalent Chromium(Cr6+), Polybrominated biphenyls(PBB), and Polybrominated diphenyl Ethers(PBDE). Though greening our product will up the cost both in material and in procedure, also we have to re-evaluate all of the testing (safety, reliability and so on). Responsibility of environment preservation is what Arbor have to carry on, otherwise we will pay for much more to re-cover our environment that have been polluted.
To make the Green schedule goes efficiently and in time, Arbor will complete the EPR status of Arbor’s mainstream product, e.g.: ETX, the end of Q3 2005, then Close the PPR status of them the end of Q4 2005. We will see Year 2006 a significant age, Arbor will run all of arbor’s products to meet RoHS Directive before end of Q2 2006. That’s our commitment to our customers in Europe and worldwide, meanwhile we will head to a new page of our green policy - More green and less hazardous things.
