How do I buy from Arbor-USA.com?

 

Q: What Arbor Products does Arbor-USA sell?

A: Arbor USA sells all products manufactured by the Arbor Technology Factory in Taiwan.

 

Q: Does Arbor Technology do additional Systems Integration or configuration with these products?

A: Yes and No. Arbor Taiwan does offer some preconfigured System Integration solutions with products such as the MIL-3000 and the MBX series of server type appliances. However the primary business of Arbor Technology / Arbor-USA is the selling component level subsystems: chassis, backplanes, single board computers and their accessories to OEM’s and Integrators who typically do their own value added integration and configuration. Arbor-USA can arrange for you to work directly with our sister company, Modular Industrial Solutions Inc, the North American Arbor Technology Authorized Integration Center for both Arbor-USA and Arbor Technology Taiwan.

 

Q: What Arbor Products does Arbor-USA stock in the USA?

A: Arbor-USA generally tries to maintain sample level stock all board and chassis level products (not complete systems level) manufactured by the Arbor Taiwan Factory.

 

Q: Why doesn't Arbor-USA stock all of the systems level products the Arbor Factory makes?

A: Arbor-USA desires to offer you, the customer / integrator the maximum amount of flexibility in your purchasing at the lowest cost. Many of the system level products manufactured by the Arbor Taiwan Factory are offered with multiple options that are mutually exclusive of each other. Both the Arbor Taiwan Factory and Arbor-USA have agreed such products will be ordered on a “Semi-Custom” basis to minimize inventory impact for both facilities. By using common parts and assembling these systems “To Order”, the Arbor Factory minimizes lead times and product cost while providing you the equivalent of a custom product for your program.

 

Q: Are there “Minimum Order Requirements” to buy products from Arbor or Arbor-USA?

A: Unless otherwise noted, sample stock for “Current items” listed on the Arbor-USA web site are maintained regularly at the Arbor-USA facility. Arbor-USA also maintains a regular (non-sample) stocking level on the most popular items to allow for small to medium quantity orders to be processed without delay.

 

Q: What is the normal lead time for the fulfillment of orders by Arbor-USA

A: For items “in stock” the normal lead time for order fulfillment is generally 24 to 72 hours depending on the QA pre-shipment testing requirements for each specific product, (all product is 100% functionally tested prior to shipment, no exceptions). For items not in stock the lead time varies between 5 and 15 days based on where the order is in relationship to the factory production and shipping cycles for that item.

Example: An item out of stock at Arbor-USA is likely already be re-order from the factory, or will be within a day or so of your order. If it is in stock at the Arbor Taiwan Factory, it will be sent from Taiwan on the next scheduled (Bi-weekly) shipment. If it is not currently in stock at the Arbor Taiwan Factory the general lead time for current products is 3-4 weeks (or less) based on where the product is in the Arbor Taiwan (internal) Factory production cycle.

 

Q: Will Arbor-USA accept “Blanket Purchase Orders” in order to minimize delivery delays on scheduled orders?

A: Yes, Arbor-USA honors “Non-Cancelable Blanket Purchase Orders” for customers with established credit terms. This helps keep established customer programs from seeing delays due to production outages of Arbor manufactured products. Blanket Orders allow us to do long term planning, which ensures all products are stocked and in reserve in order to meet the customer’s required dock date.

 

Q: How does my company establish a relationship with Arbor / Arbor-USA to purchase products?

Q: How does my company obtain credit terms to purchase Arbor Products?

A: This is a very subjective question. The general business rule is the higher the profit margin the lower the credit requirements. Since Arbor Products are sold at a very low margin you will find credit terms are tightly controlled. Arbor-USA does provide credit terms to Government Agencies, Educational entities and Dun and Bradstreet rated OEM’s and Integration companies. Other entities may apply for terms and will be considered on an individual basis by the Arbor-USA financial management team.

 

Q: Other than Net Credit Terms how can I buy small quantities or samples of Arbor Technology products from Arbor-USA?

A: Arbor-USA will accept orders based on a variety of payment methods including but not limited to Credit Cards (VISA, MC, AMEX DISCOVER Cards), Wire Transfer, Payment in Advance by Company Check or Certified Funds, and COD by Company Check for pre approved accounts.
