PISA BUS,
Half Size PCI + ISA Single Board Computers (SBCs)
the PISA Bus Boards Provide PCI + ISA in a short ISA form
factor card.
To describe the PISA Bus you would identigy the bus by its two level
slot connection, the
ISA and PCI singals are on the same edge card connection but those
finger connections are staggered both horizontally and vertically with
the 16 bit ISA being hosted on the upper row (standard ISA pin outs)
and the 32 bit PCI signals on the lower rowof fingers. This allows the
full PICMG signal set for ISA and PCI to live in half the space
lengthwise as is needed for a full length PICMG board.
You will however need a
back plane designed to use the PISA SBC boards. The
PISA bus is typically used as an Industrial Embedded Computer Bus, The
PISA board
size is as noted above a half card which generally is about 155mm x
125mm.
As the industry
has moved forward with PCI only boards the PISA product lines are
rapidly disappearing from industry product lines.
