Computer on Module - ETXe / ETX / XTX

Computer on Module products can meet your custom application requirements pefectly while also helping you to reach your goals for time-to-market, product economy, design flexibility and minimized risk. With our portfolio of extremely versatile low-power consumption CPU integrations featuring Intel, AMD and VIA /Chipsets and CPUs, most supporting fanless operation, your system can enjoy the benefit of best performance-to-watt design criteria.

ARBOR's Computer on Module Products include Com-Express (ETXe), XTX , and ETX variants in order to meet all your application design variables.

ARBOR's Com-Express (ETXe)Module series is not only compact in size, it truely exerts its advantage when combined with either your custom application (Carrier Board) or our PBE-1100 Carrier. Com Express form factor boards like EmETXe-i9652 or the newest EmETXe-i0156 will make your ETX based design extremely flexible.

To aid in your own internal design of a proprietary custom carrier board Arbor also has a line of Development (ATX sized) carrier boards, supporting virtually every possible feature or expansion capacity to allow you the best engineering R&D Com Express (ETXe) Development Tool Possible.

Arbor can also design your custom Carrier board for you with full NDA Protection at a minimum NRE if desired.

ETXe - COM Express - Computer on Module

The Next Generation of ETX.Computer on Module Boards

COM Express (ETXe) is a "PICMG" Compliant standard that defines a Computer-On-Module, or COM, packaged as a super component. The defined interfaces provide a smooth transition path from legacy parallel interfaces to LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signaling) interfaces. This includes the PCI bus, parallel ATA, PCI Express and Serial ATA. COM Express defines 5 different pinout types in order to be scalable for future applications

What's New in ETXe - COM Express - Computer on Module:

COM-842E - COM-842E - Wide Range Operating Temperature Intel® Core™ 2 Duo L7500 COM Express CPU Module
COM-830E - COM-830E - Intel Core™ Duo/Core™ 2 Duo/Celeron M COM Express CPU Module with CRT/LCD, GbE LAN and PCI Express Lanes

XTX - Computer on Module

XTX™ is an expansion and continuation of the well-established and highly successful ETX® standard.

XTX™ offers the newest I/O technologies on this proven form factor. or

The ISA bus is being used less and less in modern embedded applications, The XTX™ platform offers an array of different features via the X2 connector than those currently found on the ETX® platform.

These features include new serial high speed buses such as PCI Express™ and Serial ATA®.
All other signals found on connectors X1, X3, and X4 remain the same in accordance to the ETX® standard (Rev. 2.7) and remain compatible with the legacy standards.

XTX-834E - XTX-834E - Wide Range Operating Temperature Intel® Core™ Duo L2400 XTX™ CPU Module

ETXp - Computer on Module

2nd Generation PCI for ETX  (ISA / PCI Bus Support)

ETXp is a small processor board measuring just 114mm by 95mm.

These are fully functional processor modules which require a carrier board that provides acces to all the user I/O, keyboard, VGA and power for a functional system.

ETXp modules also have serial, parallel, USB, IDE, PCI, ISA and mouse interfaces which can be added to the design of your own carrier board. This allows a user to extend the functionality of an off-the-shelf ETXp core / SBC module to match a specific application requirements.

ETX - Computer on Module

ETX- Original ETX Standard  (ISA / PCI Bus Support)

ETX is a small processor board measuring just 114mm by 95mm.

These are fully functional processor modules which require a carrier board to provide access to the keyboard, VGA and power for a basic system.

ETX modules also have serial, parallel, USB, IDE, PCI, ISA and mouse interfaces which can be added to the design of your own carrier board. This way you can extend the functionality of an off-the-shelf ETX coresmodule to match a specific application requirement.

Functional prototypes can now be used in a very early project stage for hardware and software evaluation.

The development of custom ETX carrier boards that integrate all the additional required functions takes place in a separate effort. Development time of custom ETX carrier boards is a minimal effort that takes normally around one or two months.

By using the ETX module you start from a readily available system core, hardware design time and cost is minimized as attention can be focused on those parts of the system unique to your application.

ETX-ETXp / ETXe / XTX CARRIER BOARDs

Carrier Boards for ETX / ETXp / ETXe / XTX SBC Modules

ETX / ETXp / ETXe / XTX SBC Modules are snap in engines which must be supported by user defined or off the shelf Carrier Boards.

These Carrier Boards supply the "Rest of the PC Puzzle" in that they provide the Engine Modules with the User Required Mechanical Interface that allows access to I/O Bus Functions and a set of standard User Interface Connections.

Carrier boards can be mechanically defined in any size, shape the user needs that is the same or greater in size of the base of the engine module itself.

The Carrier boards can be designed to support any Set or Subset of a given Engine Modules Functional Specifications (Feature Set).

Arbor has committed a team to design and build a series of Feature Rich Evaluation Carrier Boards to allow an user's engineering team to test for desired functionality and features prior to committing resources to a proprietary Carrier     Board Design unique to that user's need.

Four of the Carrier Boards shown here are specifically designed as engineering tools for this purpose.

The Fifth board represented there is a production board modeled in the PC/104+ form factor and is a standard component used in a number of Arbor Technology PC/104-PC/104+ Product offerings.

The Option to Design your own Carrier Board by obtaining a copy of the pertinant ETX-ETXp / ETXe / XTX Specification is one course of action for your company engineering team, However a very cost effective option would be to partner with Arbor Technolgy to design your Proprietary Carrier Board, With Minimal NRE Arbor can take the proven design of the Appropriate Evaluation Board shown on these pages and your specified "Size Parameters", "Feature Set" and "Required I/O" and "Bus Expansion" requirements to roll up a proven and tested Carrier Board specific to your program and project, your only activity would be to review, test, approve and implement the product in your project or programs.
Full NDA and Escrow processes for your proprietary data can be implemented for your project security.
